I’m Elena, a southerner with a fierce love for people, advocacy and the magic of therapy.
I grew up on the Alabama Gulf Coast and have lived in the Birmingham area since 2014. As a sophomore in college, I realized I wanted to be a part of the empowerment process of others. This passion led me to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Spring Hill College and then Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo.
My creative spirit has found happiness in music, dance, writing and art throughout my life. I believe that the expressive arts can be powerfully incorporated into the therapeutic process. It is of the utmost importance to me that therapy be a helpful and healing process for my clients. I enjoy building relationships and having people teach me about who they are and what they need.
Outside of my professional life, I’m a mom to two orange + white cats, Flynn and Zosia. I enjoy being outside, traveling, photographing new places and baking.
I am currently awaiting license renewal through the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling as an ALC (Associate License Counselor). I am under the supervision of James Jackson, Ph.D, LPC-S, RPT-S.
